//02 CONTEXT

Context

Tower operations depend on a dense network of business and technology capabilities: site and asset information, structural engineering, alarms, field service, access control, security response, commercial processes, billing, integration, data and reporting.

As the estate evolved, the architecture needed to make the role of each platform explicit and establish how information and events should move across the operating model.

//03 CHALLENGE

Challenge

The principal challenge was not the absence of systems; it was creating coherence across many systems with different ownership models, data responsibilities and integration patterns.

Point-to-point interfaces and overlapping responsibilities increase operational risk as the estate scales, particularly where customer-facing services depend on reliable cross-platform processes.

//04 ARCHITECTURE

Architecture

The target state defines clear platform responsibilities and moves integration toward managed API and event-driven patterns. Site and asset information, engineering, field operations, remote monitoring, identity and access, security, billing and analytics are treated as connected enterprise capabilities.

The architecture introduces an enterprise integration layer, observability, governed data flows and explicit systems of record so that change can be absorbed without recreating brittle dependencies.

//05 TRANSFORMATION

Transformation

Architecture governance connects the target state to delivery through principles, solution reviews, materiality assessment and decision records. The roadmap sequences platform change, integration modernisation, data capability and operational controls rather than attempting a single disruptive replacement.

This allows the organisation to improve the existing estate while progressively converging on the north-star architecture.

//06 OUTCOME

Outcome

The programme creates a common architectural frame for technology investment and delivery: clearer ownership, more scalable integration, stronger observability and a more governable path from current-state platforms to the intended digital operating model.
